Dr. Anissa FUNG

Dr Anissa Fung was Associate Professor in the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts, the Education University of Hong Kong. She is a renowned ceramics artist graduated from the Central St. Martin College of Art in London, with a Master Degree in Ceramic product design from the Royal College of Art, England; and also a Doctoral Degree in Fine Art from the RMIT University, Australia. Dr Fung is well recognized with her creative ceramics on reflection of contemporary visual culture and ancient Chinese ritual art. Her ceramics have been globally showcased in more than 50 exhibitions, with many pieces archived by local and overseas museums. She is the recipient of the “Hong Kong Artists Series Award 1995”, “Prize of Excellence in Tea Wares Design Competition 2009” presented by the Hong Kong Museum of Art; and also winner of “Honorable Nomination Award” selected by the international jury committee of the “2011 (1ST) China Kaolin International Ceramic Art Exhibition”, Jingdezhen, China. In 2015, Dr Fung’s ceramic artwork has been short-listed by the jury of El Vendrell Regidoria de Cultura to participate in the international exhibition “VIII International Biennal of Ceramic El Vendrell 2015--La Rambla, Spain” opened in October 2015. 

Museum Aquisition

2011 Artwork “Soft Tissue Coffee Set”(輭紙咖啡套件), exhibited in the “2011 (1st)

         China Kaolin International Ceramic Art Exhibition” (2011首屆中國國際陶瓷藝術大

         賽展) was archived by the Jingdezhen Ceramics Museum (國家二級博物館).

2010 Art work “Handle with Care!” (小心輕放!) purchased by the Flagstaff Museum of

         Tea Wares, the Hong Kong Museum of Art.

2010 Art work “Add Water, Please” (加水,唔該!) archived by the Contemporary

         Ceramics Museum in Jingdezhen, China. 

2009 Art work “The Legend of Evergreen”(不老的傳說) archived by the Contemporary

         Ceramics Museum in Jingdezhen, China.
 

Awards

2010 Artwork “Soft Tissue Coffee Set”(輭紙咖啡套件), exhibited in the “2011 (1st) China 

         Kaolin International Ceramic Art Exhibition” (2011首屆中國國際陶瓷藝術大賽展) 

         was presented the “Honorable Nomination Award” (提名獎) by the international

         jury Committee,Great China Museum , Jingdezhen; organized by the Department

         of Culture of Jiangxi Province, Jingdezhen Municipal People’s Government and

         Chinese National Academy of Arts, China. 

2010 Artwork “Handle with Care!” (小心輕放!) was awarded the Prize of Excellence in

         Museum of Art, Hong Kong. 

2006 Hong Kong delegate to participate in the IMPART: Creative Education in the UK, 

         awarded by the British Council.

1995 The Hong Kong Artist Series (I) Award, conferred by the Hong Kong Museum of

         Art.

1990 Matthew Wrightson Charity Fund Scholarship for Creative Design Projects,

         conferred by the Royal College of Art, London, UK.
