ARTISTS / Yukako Kojima
Yukako Kojima uses the transparent nature of glass to express the mysterious light of nature. She glues flat glass into layers before polishing them into shapes. Yukako loves to apply simple and refined geometric patterns, precisely controlling and proportional perfectly showing the changes of light and shadow by the light of glass at different levels. As Yukako believes, “I just wanted to create something cool that would surprise people when they see it.“
Born in 1979 in Chiba Prefecture,
Graduated from Tama Art University, Glass Course in 2001
Graduated from Toyama Glass Art Institute in 2004
Completed studies at Toyama Glass Art Institute in 2006
Participated in a glass workshop internship for three months in Namhae Island, South Korea, in 2009
Invited to participate in the Gyeonggi International Ceramics Biennale Glass Art Workshop in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, in 2011
