Artist / Hideki Suzuki

Japanese "national treasure" ceramic artist Hideaki Suzuki is over sixty-five years old. He has won numerous awards both in Japan and internationally. He graduated from the Department of Sociology at Utah State University in the United States in 1986. During his years of studying in the United States, he was influenced by avant-garde art and determined to become a ceramic artist after returning to China. In 1991, he studied for a master's degree in ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art in the United States. He focused on studying the traditional Japanese "Kutani ware" and developed his avant-garde and unique artistic life. In 1993, he Won the Ministry of Culture Award at the International Contemporary Ceramics Biennale in Vallauris, France.
