ARTISTS / Yasuhito Kawasaki
Yasuhito Kawasaki (b. 1983) was born in Saga, Japan. In 2010, he obtained a Master's degree in Casting from Kanazawa College of Art. He gained recognition for his fibreglass sculptures, but since meeting his wife, who is a ceramic artist, he has also ventured into ceramic sculpture.
Yasuhito Kawasaki firmly believes that everyone has a parallel world, where different processes of events or the subsequent development of different decisions exist in separate parallel universes. Impressions of oneself can change, and things can transform into one another. In Kawasaki's view, sculpture is an extension of the subconscious self, encompassing external forms and internal emotions. Therefore, Kawasaki uses vivid colours and creates adorable and lively sculptures to convey purity and joy.
