Ho Jung Kim (b. 1988) received a Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Art from Korea's Kyung Hee University and a Master's degree in Industrial Ceramics from Hongik University before going on to study at the Royal College of Art, where she earned a Master's degree in Ceramics and Glass in 2019. Kim currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Ceramic Art department at Kyung Hee University in Korea. Through her experimentation with colour, materials, and various artistic vocabularies, Kim explores the relationship between community, history, and nature. From ceramics to painting, drawing, and installation art, she incorporates her international background and unique sensibility for form and material into her work. Her work has been exhibited in the UK, Germany, France, Japan, and South Korea.

Kim's creative inspiration comes from the infinite expanse of space presented by the sky and the ocean, and her work begins with a curiosity for everything hidden in the depths of blue. She believes that nature is a space that contains a power beyond human ability. Kim uses colour as a beautiful visual language, and through harmonious blending, creative activity is generated. Her paintings, drawings, and ceramic works all contemplate the hope brought by blue, a colour that surrounds people and inspires imagination of endless possibilities in the vast sky and deep ocean.

In her work, blue pigment becomes the medium that evokes the natural and cosmic. Kim's goal is to present this colour energy in flat works and ceramic forms. The blue dots, lines, and shapes freely scattered in the texture of her paintings and ceramics interact with each other. Kim believes that the meaning of blue may be different for everyone, but she hopes that people can find hope and comfort beyond blue. Her work encourages people to view blue as a beautiful and powerful visual language, and to explore the infinite natural space through it.
